About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide excellent customer service using OMC’s C.A.R.E. standards
- Ensure provider orders are processed, authorized, and scheduled as necessary
- Coordinate diagnostic testing and medical care with multiple internal and external departments
- Participate in obtaining prior authorization when necessary
- Coordinate health information between departments and caregivers under applicable HIPAA laws
- Use electronic repositories to exchange secure health information and insurance coverage data
- Document patient care promptly and according to electronic health record standards
- Assist patients in navigating the healthcare system according to the provider’s plan of care
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associates Degree in healthcare or business preferred
- Two years of experience working in a health care setting required
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service and patient care skills required
- Prior experience with insurance authorizations preferred
- Prior experience with Epic preferred
- Licensure/credentials: None
