About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide excellent customer service using OMC’s C.A.R.E. standards
  • Process, authorize, and schedule provider orders as necessary
  • Coordinate diagnostic testing and medical care across multiple internal and external departments
  • Participate in obtaining prior authorization when necessary
  • Coordinate health information between departments and caregivers under applicable HIPAA laws
  • Use electronic repositories to exchange secure health information and insurance coverage data
  • Document patient care promptly and according to electronic health record documentation standards
  • Help patients navigate the health care system according to the provider’s plan of care

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associates Degree in healthcare or business preferred
  • Two years of experience working in a health care setting required
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service and patient care skills required
  • Prior experience with insurance authorizations preferred
  • Prior experience with Epic preferred
  • Understanding of authorization processes
  • HIPAA-compliant handling of health information
  • LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS: None
