About the role
- Collaborates effectively with technical staff and project managers to ensure successful preparation of project schedules, scopes, and objectives.
- Applies technical experience to assist with the development of cost estimates and the formulation of project budgets.
- May allocate potential resources and assign individual assignments on smaller portions of a project, ensuring technical capabilities and expertise align with project objectives.
- Provides high-level technical guidance and support to solve drilling complexities and maintain progress on drilling assignments.
- Tracks project completion by monitoring schedule, resource utilization, and expenses.
- Attends project meetings to develop client relationships and review project performance.
- Promotes efficiencies in producing quality work and identifies opportunities for improvement among technical processes.
- Documents all project deliverables and maintains records including correspondence, drilling plans, and other project related files.
- May mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced staff.
- May be required to work in all types of terrain and weather conditions and on project sites in various stages of construction.
Requirements
- Associate degree in a construction related field preferred
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical drilling
- Ability to obtain and maintain railroad and safety certifications
- Ability to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and obtain a commercial driving license (CDL)
- Has experience in the following drilling disciplines:
- Continuous flight augers
- Hollow stem augers (3 1/4 inch, 4 1/4-inch, and 6 1/4-inch)
- NQ wireline coring/tooling
- Well installation
- American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) sampling methods.
