About the role
- Provides structural design elements for federal engineering projects using fundamental knowledge of structural principles, standard techniques, and established methods for small to mid-sized projects.
- Performs basic structural plan production and receives instructions for necessary tasks, including drafting and detailing structural components.
- Develops and apply knowledge and experience working within structural design and modeling software, such as Revit, Risa, and other structural analysis tools.
- Assist with project schedules, engineering calculations, and preparation of construction documents.
- Coordinates with experienced structural engineers and designers on non-routine techniques and procedures to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
- Gather research, recommend solutions, and create drafts of technical reports.
- Mentor student interns by providing opportunities for developing basic structural engineering skills and knowledge.
- May travel and work in various terrains and weather conditions at project sites in different stages of construction.
Requirements
- A minimum of one year of engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or architectural engineering or a related engineering field.
- Possesses Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification.
- Knowledge in structural engineering technologies, such as Revit and structural analysis softwares.
- Ability to contribute and work well with a team.
- Solid interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to diligently research applicable structural codes, standards, and regulations.
- Willingness to travel and work in field conditions as needed.
