Key responsibilities & impact- Provide expert adaptation, editing, proofreading, translation, harmonization, and final signoff of OLG’s public-facing French materials
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and message alignment between French and English materials across OLG’s multiple platforms
- Review, research, assess, and adjust translation-agency work and translate text as required
- Proofread, review, edit, and approve high volumes of digital and print creative materials
- Test and validate French content
- Support development and maintenance of high-quality French Language Services in accordance with OLG policy
- Monitor delivery of French-language services to consumers and stakeholders
- Lead rollout of a Translation Management System, including FlowFit and memoQ or similar CAT tools
- Develop and maintain a terminology database with approved translations
- Resolve IT issues involving access, performance, and security
- Manage FlowFit back-end administration and provide backup administrative support
- Provide subject matter expertise and regulatory-policy advice regarding OLG’s French Language Services Policy and the French Languages Services Act
Requirements
What you’ll need- Post-secondary degree in French studies specializing in French translation or editing
- At least 3 years of experience in French translation, proofreading, and/or editing
- Proficiency with Translation Management Systems, including FlowFit and memoQ or similar CAT tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Experience Manager
- Expert oral and written fluency in French, specializing in French copy editing
- Expert English proficiency to understand subtleties of English in all contexts
- Expert ability to edit and translate text from English to French and French to English
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
