About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Performing rigorous mechanical analyses across all levels of fidelity, from hand calculations and textbook formulas to highly detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Evaluating structural performance for stress, creep, fatigue, vibration, temperature limits, and other failure modes
Interpreting and applying relevant engineering standards and codes (e.g., ASME, ASCE, AISC) to establish appropriate design limits and acceptance criteria
Developing clear, concise, and technically sound documentation of engineering methodologies, analysis results, and design justifications
Summarizing mechanical analysis results in written documents and presentation slides, translating complex data into concise summaries of key findings (e.g., peak stresses, safety margins) and actionable design revision recommendations
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, quality, and test engineering to drive design decisions and ensure robust product development
Supporting the creation and refinement of product requirements
Planning and executing validation and verification activities, including designing and overseeing physical test programs to validate engineering assumptions and design requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s or higher degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., mechanical, aerospace, materials)
4+ years of industry experience performing mechanical or structural analysis within sectors such as energy, aerospace, automotive, defense, industrial machinery, or advanced manufacturing
Proven experience in structural analysis using FEA tools (e.g., Ansys, Abaqus, COMSOL)
Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive technical documentation and reports
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
