Key responsibilities & impact

Establish fire protection requirements that inform plant design
Develop Fire Hazard Analyses, Fire Protection Program, First Safe Shutdown Analyses, and other licensing and design documentation
Define equipment architecture, specifications, operational modes, and performance criteria
Lead the design of fire protection equipment
Perform commissioning and testing of fire protection systems
Manage projects with third party fire protection consultants
Document work using modern tools and techniques, and compose well-written, thoughtful technical reports

Requirements

What you’ll need

Engineering education, potentially Fire Protection, Nuclear, Chemical, or Mechanical
Experience performing design of fire protection systems in the nuclear, petroleum, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical industries
Broad familiarity with engineering principles, and having strong systems engineering and operations intuition
