About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the mine planning team and other technical disciplines by providing guidance, training, and mentorship
- Develop and follow core processes and uphold technical standards
- Promote a culture of safety and well-being
- Utilize understanding of mining engineering principles to aid in the creation of design surfaces, schedules, and cost estimates
- Prepare, review, and authenticate advanced technical documentation and reports
- Facilitate workshops and conduct risk assessments and analyses with various stakeholders
- Interact competently with internal and external stakeholders
- Build strong professional relationships with clients and engage in business development initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in mine and/or tailings planning
- Familiarity with regulatory and legislative frameworks
- Strong project management skills
- Knowledge of mine planning software (Hexagon MinePlan and/or Deswik)
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
- Registered as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with APEGA or can transfer from another jurisdiction
- Willingness to travel for workshops, client meetings, and site visits when needed
