About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the mine planning team and other technical disciplines by providing guidance, training, and mentorship
Develop and follow core processes and uphold technical standards
Promote a culture of safety and well-being
Utilize understanding of mining engineering principles to aid in the creation of design surfaces, schedules, and cost estimates
Prepare, review, and authenticate advanced technical documentation and reports
Facilitate workshops and conduct risk assessments and analyses with various stakeholders
Interact competently with internal and external stakeholders
Build strong professional relationships with clients and engage in business development initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience in mine and/or tailings planning
Familiarity with regulatory and legislative frameworks
Strong project management skills
Knowledge of mine planning software (Hexagon MinePlan and/or Deswik)
Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
Registered as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with APEGA or can transfer from another jurisdiction
Willingness to travel for workshops, client meetings, and site visits when needed
