Senior Consultant – Mine Water Management

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead mine water management projects from conceptual planning through detailed design.
- Lead mine water balance models to support site-wide water balance assessments and management planning.
- Support the development of water quality models.
- Direct mine water management infrastructure planning and design, focusing on surface water infrastructure.
- Oversee the completion of climate, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support peak flow and flood control studies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support closure visioning, planning and execution.
- Provide senior technical oversight and serve as a Qualified Professional as required.
- Interact competently with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor or graduate degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering.
- Holds a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in at least one Canadian province.
- Demonstrated leadership and experience in water management within the mining industry.
- Experience engaging directly with mining clients and regulators as a senior technical advisor.
- Experience and aptitude for multidisciplinary work and dynamic team environments.
- Demonstrated experience in hydrology, hydraulics, water infrastructure design, and water balance modelling.
- Proficiency using water modelling softwares such as GoldSim, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS and other relevant numerical modelling programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
