About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Submit medical billing to the appropriate party
- Work insurance edits and errors
- Follow up on adjudication of claims
- Work payer rejections and denials
- Review, analyze, and correct denied and rejected claims
- Follow up on unpaid accounts to collect payment
- Research payer correspondence and phone-call information to ensure accurate account handling
- Review and update patient insurance information
- Work closely with payer representatives to bring accounts to completion
- Report trends and payer issues to management
- Communicate with payers, patients, family members, guarantors, hospital departments, and physician practices regarding insurance claims
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School or GED (Required)
- At least 1 year experience with similar work
- No certification or licensure required
- Analytical skills to gather and interpret data where information or problems are not overly difficult or complex
- Clear communication and organizational skills to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work from Ohio
