About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a team of project managers and senior project managers delivering a portfolio of projects aligned with strategic objectives
  • Ensure project managers maintain artifacts covering scope, schedule, status communication, budget, and risk management
  • Lead the team through organizational change, ambiguity, and competing priorities
  • Align IT project management, vendor project management, and operational leadership for enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Manage portfolio resourcing, staffing allocation, and project manager assignments
  • Interview, hire, onboard, coach, mentor, and support project management staff
  • Serve as an escalation point, remove roadblocks, solve problems, and escalate appropriately
  • Manage vendor relationships supporting project management staffing
  • Monitor portfolio financial performance and coordinate with finance on capital and operating expenditures
  • Establish and facilitate program steering committees and governance
  • Build partnerships across clinical, operational, financial, design and construction, and technical organizations
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, and business leaders to modernize platforms, enable AI and analytics, improve patient experiences, and optimize delivery processes
  • Improve Solution Delivery organizational maturity and governance structures
  • Develop tools to automate project management deliverables and processes
  • Represent IT Solutions Delivery in enterprise forums and collaborate with the EPMO
  • Translate business goals into executable roadmaps and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver measurable outcomes
  • Use metrics, insights, and continuous improvement practices to guide decisions, anticipate risks, and improve delivery performance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience managing complex IT programs or portfolios
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models
  • Familiarity with IT governance, architecture, and cybersecurity frameworks
  • Experience in healthcare IT environments desired
  • Demonstrated success leading project managers supporting enterprise-scale IT initiatives desired
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Expert-level experience with Smartsheet, ServiceNow, and JIRA
  • Ability to balance strategic vision, business value, user experience, and technical feasibility
  • Ability to use metrics, insights, and continuous improvement practices to guide decisions and improve delivery performance
