About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform administrative and clinical duties delegated by the physician
  • Assist physicians with patient care in compliance with the Ohio Administrative Code
  • Facilitate efficient patient flow by preparing patients for visits and providing provider-directed services and education
  • Complete Care Connect EMR documentation and maintain the EMR in-basket
  • Perform administrative duties and keep patient information current and updated
  • Maintain and clean the environment, work area, and equipment; report malfunctions
  • Collect and monitor patient data and report patient needs as directed
  • Maintain documentation for chargeable patient items and services
  • Communicate and collaborate with patients, customers, and the healthcare team
  • Engage in quality improvement, process improvement, and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Complete required continuous training and department-specific education
  • Promote patient quality, safety, and experience initiatives
  • Serve as a subject matter expert/resource for quality, performance improvement, and EMR, including EPIC Super User responsibilities
  • Support development of standard work and necessary customizations
  • Function as a clinical preceptor and train new staff
  • Ensure compliance with scope of practice and high-reliability safety, quality, and efficiency requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
  • Successful completion of Care Connect EMR documentation skills
  • Compliance with Ohio Administrative Code, Ohio policy, provider licensure, and scope of practice
  • Completion of required continuous training and department-specific education
  • Ability to perform administrative and clinical duties delegated by physicians
  • Ability to collect, monitor, document, and report patient data
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients, customers, and healthcare team members
  • Ability to support patient flow, quality, safety, and operational efficiency initiatives
