About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process referral requests for all providers
- Ensure referral/authorization numbers are obtained
- Search electronic medical records for clinical information
- Reviews and processes referral and authorization requests
- Handle calls from internal and external sources
- Communicate as appropriate with payer, provider, patient
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School or GED (Required)
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills
- Strong typing and computer skills
- Working knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 classification systems
- Anatomy & Physiology knowledge
- Medical Terminology knowledge
- 1-2 years working knowledge in a healthcare facility
- Minimum of 2 years Experience in a physician office with patient registration
- One years Experience with third party payors required
- Computer Experience required
