Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One of the following: diploma from a Medical Assistant Program; minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience; Military Medic training; EMT-P (Paramedic) training; or equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred
  • Ability to assist with direct patient care and routine specialized medical procedures
  • Ability to measure and record vital signs
  • Ability to complete patient interviews and histories
  • Ability to prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments
  • Ability to collect blood, urine, and sputum samples
  • Ability to perform routine laboratory tests
