About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with direct patient care
  • Perform specialized medical procedures of a routine nature
  • Assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients
  • Room patients, measure and record vital signs
  • Complete patient interview and history
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments
  • Assists with procedures as ordered by physician
  • Collect samples such as blood, urine, and sputum from patients
  • Perform routine laboratory tests on samples

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR
  • Military Medic training OR
  • EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR
  • Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
  • Medical Assistant Certification (preferred)
