About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with direct patient care
- Perform specialized medical procedures of a routine nature as dictated by established clinical protocol
- Assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients
- Room patients, measure and record vital signs
- Complete patient interview and history
- Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments and explain procedures
- Assist with procedures as ordered by physician
- May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests
- Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients
- Collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR
- Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR
- Military Medic training OR
- EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR
- Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
