About the role
- Provide technically sound legal advice directly to clients with appropriate supervision from senior fee earners
- Take ownership of legal transactions from end to end
- Manage your own financial responsibilities including time recording, billing, WIP (work in progress) and debt, ensuring clients are fully informed as to the fees and disbursements that will be incurred on each matter and provide updates as required, engaging appropriate cash collection procedures to ensure fees are collected in a timely manner
- Provide input to partners and begin to develop negotiating skills in the preparation of new matter fee estimates and quotes
- Staying up to date with new legislation and topics of interest in the relevant markets and how these changes affect clients and matters
- Assisting with the orientation of new joiners, bursary students and summer interns and developing strong relationships with immediate team members
Requirements
- Qualified Lawyer at NQ – 1 year PQE level
- Excellent academic background, including 2:1 at degree, plus Commendation/Distinction at LPC (or equivalent and where taken)
- Excellent drafting and written communication skills
- Build commercial awareness and share knowledge and relevant new information with your immediate team in know how sessions
- Build productive and strong relationships both internally and externally
- Promote team work and develop strong relationships with immediate team members
