About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and build a scalable, modern data warehouse (greenfield) to support business-wide analytics and future AI use cases
Develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest and transform data from multiple sources into clean, usable datasets
Own data modelling, schema design, and metric definitions across the business
Partner with Product, Engineering, BI and Finance to deeply understand data needs and translate them into scalable solutions
Drive data quality, reliability, and performance at scale
Evaluate and optimise the data stack (build vs buy decisions, tooling, architecture)
Support real-time data initiatives to enable faster, more informed operational decisions
Mentor and guide a junior data engineer, with scope to grow the team over time

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven experience building and scaling data platforms end-to-end (ideally in a product-led environment)
Strong hands-on capability across data engineering fundamentals — pipelines, modelling, warehousing
Experience working with modern data stacks (e.g. Snowflake/Redshift, SQLMesh, DBT, Fivetran, PostgreSQL)
Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g. Python)
Ability to work across different tech stacks and adapt to evolving architecture
Strong understanding of data quality, performance, and scaling considerations
Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering and business stakeholders
Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear data solutions
