About the role
- Responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair activities within the organization.
- Managing a team of maintenance personnel, ensuring all equipment and facilities are operating efficiently and safely.
- Planning and executing maintenance schedules, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and organizational standards.
- Performing maintenance tasks when needed.
- Leading, training, and evaluating maintenance staff to ensure high levels of performance.
- Developing and implementing maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal equipment functionality.
- Monitoring and inspecting work performed by maintenance staff, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Assisting in the preparation and management of the maintenance budget.
- Monitoring inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, ordering as necessary.
- Conducting regular safety inspections and training sessions for maintenance staff.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory.
- Preparing and presenting reports on maintenance operations to upper management.
- Working closely with other departments to coordinate maintenance needs and schedules.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in maintenance management or a similar role, preferably within property management or a related industry.
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing maintenance operations for multiple properties.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team of maintenance professionals.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development, motivation, and performance management.
- In-depth knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues efficiently.
- Experience in planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance projects, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, vendors, and clients.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills are also required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards related to property maintenance.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
- Familiarity with maintenance management software and tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
