About the role

  • Responsibility for bottom-up contribution-margin models at metering-point level, including end-customer prices, procurement costs, balancing-group deviations, grid fees, levies and taxes
  • Transparent margin analyses by product, customer segment and portfolio
  • Forward-looking profitability and sensitivity analyses to support management decisions
  • Analytical support for tariff and pricing development, including dynamic and flexible products
  • Close support for procurement strategy through volume forecasts, scenario analyses and evaluation of hedge performance
  • Management and analysis of balancing-group performance in electricity and gas, including derivation of financial impacts
  • Development of KPIs for forecast quality and reduction of imbalance-energy costs in collaboration with Trading, Data and Tech
  • Integration of price, volume and balancing-group risks into planning and decision-making processes
  • Scenario-based decision support for the CEO, CFO and management with a clear view of risks and opportunities
  • Build and lead a high-performing analytics team and establish clear standards, models and tools

Requirements

  • Senior-level background in Analytics, Energy Economics or Commercial Finance within the energy sector
  • Deep understanding of the German energy market, especially balancing-group management, forecasting and deviation/imbalance costs
  • Confident handling of end-customer pricing as well as procurement and market mechanics
  • Experienced in building robust bottom-up models (unit economics, margins, profitability)
  • High professional credibility and composure when engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Very comfortable working with uncertainty, dynamic situations and incomplete data
  • Pragmatic, results-oriented working style with a strong analytical focus
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to translate complex relationships into concrete decisions
