About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide individualized medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically, and via telephone under the supervision of a licensed health care provider
  • Assist in delivering health care services to patients of diverse backgrounds and ages
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients and their families

  • Handle other assigned duties effectively and efficiently
  • Adapt behavior and communication style to specific patient populations, respecting privacy and requesting permissions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with and maintaining confidential information
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Computer skills and dexterity for patient-information data entry and retrieval
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications, role-specific software packages, and keyboard
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work with patients of diverse backgrounds and ages
  • Ability to handle exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste
  • Ability to frequently exert 10 to 20 pounds of force and occasionally up to 100 pounds of force
