Pre-Service Representative – Financial Clearance, Call Center
Ochsner HealthCommunicating financial liabilities and resolving inquiries for patients at Ochsner Health. Handling inbound and outbound calls, payment process, and pre-registering accounts.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Communicating financial liability with patients prior to their scheduled appointments.
- Inbound and outbound patient calls, accepting payments, and pre-registering patient accounts.
- Communicating with clinical providers when required.
- Verifying patient demographics and insurance payer information.
- Providing patients with cost estimates and explaining financial information to patient and staff.
- Educating patients on payment options.
- Collecting and documenting patient and guarantor information accurately across systems.
- Attempting to collect payment in advance of services, processing payments, reconciling accounts.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare or related setting such as hospital, clinic, medical office, or in business service/revenue cycle.
- Preferred – Associates Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare.
- Proficiency in Windows-based applications, EPIC, and accurate data entry/keyboard skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally;
- Familiar with insurance benefits, authorizations, billing processes, and regulatory guidelines.
- Able to stay calm and professional in stressful situations; strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational, time management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Works well with others, uses good judgement, maintains confidentiality, and can work independently.
