About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist with the construction, erection, installation, fabrication, and repairs for all types of cooling towers.
Work diligently to assure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, on time and to OBR quality standards.
Always work safely and follow safe work procedures.
Assist with the installation of mechanical equipment including: motors, fans, gear boxes and drive shafts, mechanical supports and fan stacks.
Read blue prints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, dimensions of the structure or fixture.
Assist with the select of lumber and other materials to be used on the assigned job.
Assist with preparing layout, using rulers, tape measures, framing square and calipers.
Assist with marking cuts, holes and assembly lines on materials using pencil, chalk, and marking gage.
Assist with shaping materials to prescribed measurements using saws, chisels, and grinders.
Assist with assembling cut and shaped materials.
Assist with piping and nozzle installation.
Assist with the erection of framework.
Perform other work as directed by OBR Field Supervision.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma, or equivalent
Valid Driver’s License or ID Card (also, must have reliable transportation)
Knowledge and application of safety standards through OSHA training and experience
Experience working in an industrial workplace
Ability work within precise limits and/or standards of accuracy
Ability to select and use proper tools
Ability to compare and accurately determine differences in size, shape and form of objects
Ability to multi-task
Ability to work well with others
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
