Electrical Apprentice
OBR Cooling TowersElectrical Apprentice assisting Journeymen and Master Electricians in installations and inspections of Electrical equipment. Performing troubleshooting and maintenance tasks within an industrial environment.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist Journeymen and Master Electricians with the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and inspection of Electrical and Instrumentation equipment.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
- Install tubing for instruments.
- Pull wiring through conduit and label appropriately.
- Connect wiring to controllers and instruments.
- Assist with testing continuity of circuits using testing instruments.
- Mount instruments and electrical panels using a variety of hand tools.
- Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards.
- Assist in testing, troubleshooting, and repair of wiring and connections.
- Collaborate with other electricians and contractors on larger projects.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Reliable transportation
- Knowledge and application of safety standards
- Knowledge of electrical codes and best practices through training, vocational schooling, or apprenticeship program
- A minimum of 1 year’s experience as an Electrician in a construction/industrial setting.
- Currently enrolled/willing to enroll in an apprenticeship program.
- Experience with common tools used such as: hand tools, power tools (saws, drills), machinery (conduit cutters), multimeters, tubing bender and cutters.
