About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist Journeymen and Master Electricians with the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and inspection of Electrical and Instrumentation equipment.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
  • Install tubing for instruments.
  • Pull wiring through conduit and label appropriately.
  • Connect wiring to controllers and instruments.
  • Assist with testing continuity of circuits using testing instruments.
  • Mount instruments and electrical panels using a variety of hand tools.
  • Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards.
  • Assist in testing, troubleshooting, and repair of wiring and connections.
  • Collaborate with other electricians and contractors on larger projects.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Reliable transportation
  • Knowledge and application of safety standards
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and best practices through training, vocational schooling, or apprenticeship program
  • A minimum of 1 year’s experience as an Electrician in a construction/industrial setting.
  • Currently enrolled/willing to enroll in an apprenticeship program.
  • Experience with common tools used such as: hand tools, power tools (saws, drills), machinery (conduit cutters), multimeters, tubing bender and cutters.
