About the role

  • Review and prepare accurate and timely invoices/claims for services provided
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices/claims, ensuring timely payments from insurance companies
  • Continually monitor AR, ageing levels and unapplied billings
  • Resolve billing issues, such as discrepancies or disputes, by communication with insurance companies and other stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate and complete billing records and reports
  • Utilize EHR systems and clearinghouse databases to maximize the pace and flow of revenue
  • Accurately post all assigned insurance payments
  • Enhance performance in unpaid claims/accounts receivables
  • Address person inquiries and provide excellent customer service
  • Collaborate with other departments in successful resolution of claims related issues
  • Maintain strict adherence to confidentiality standards and HIPAA regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred, Bachelor’s Degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field
  • Billing and coding certifications strongly preferred
  • Preferred Experience: 5 years’ experience as a biller or billing specialist
  • In depth knowledge of Medicaid, PIHP, and third-party billing
  • Medical Coding/terminology
  • Proficient in billing systems and clearinghouses
  • Proficiency using EHR systems and clearinghouse databases
  • Ability to accurately post all assigned insurance payments
  • Maintains strict adherence to confidentiality standards, and HIPAA regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
  • Must have available means of transportation to and from OCHN and for required offsite meetings or site visits
  • Must be available for meetings and events which may occur outside of standard office hours
  • Ability to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
