DevOps Engineer

• Platform & Infrastructure: Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) on GCP
• Manage and evolve our Kubernetes platform, including cluster operations, workload configuration, and service mesh (Istio)
• Develop and improve internal tooling that abstracts cloud complexity and improves the developer experience
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to understand service deployment needs and deliver infrastructure solutions
• Reliability & Observability: Monitor platform health using Datadog; proactively identify and resolve performance, availability, and security issues
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response; drive blameless post-mortems and eliminate recurring issues at their root cause
• Define and track service-level indicators and objectives (SLIs/SLOs) for critical platform components
• Implement and refine alerting, dashboards, and runbooks that reduce mean time to resolution
• Security & Compliance: Embed security best practices into infrastructure workflows (DevSecOps) — not as an afterthought, but as a design principle
• Help maintain cloud security posture, IAM hygiene, and policy guardrails across our cloud environment
• Stay current with cloud security developments and proactively surface risks to the team
• Execute and maintain our automated disaster recovery processes
• Collaboration & Growth: Work closely with product engineering teams to understand their needs and remove infrastructure friction
• Document systems, processes, and architectural decisions clearly so knowledge is shared, not siloed
• Recommend improvements to tooling, architecture, and processes — and help drive them to completion

Cloud Operations Engineer

• Analyze, negotiate and draft subscription agreements, nondisclosure agreements, services agreements and other transactional documents to ensure that business needs are met while minimizing risk to the company
• Assist in responding to RFPs and vendor questionnaires by providing timely legal review of customer terms, noting any alternative provisions that should be proposed to align with O’Reilly’s business practices and requirements
• Consult with sales, finance, marketing, product, IT and other business units to address their respective business concerns in connection with contract-related issues and decisions
• Partner with outside counsel on complex or escalated matters, managing engagements efficiently to control costs and timelines

• Develop deep relationships with stakeholders to provide best practices, guidance, and strategic roadmaps for workforce transformation.

• Act as the internal voice of the customer, translating user needs and feature requests into actionable insights for the O’Reilly Product and Engineering teams.
• Drive rapid 'Time-to-Value' by leading structured onboarding sessions that move customers from initial login to active, habitual usage.

Backend Engineer

• Write and ship code utilizing Python and frameworks such as Django to deliver platform features and improve platform performance in a microservice environment.
• Take ownership of the full lifecycle of services, including deployment, monitoring, alerting, and triage to quickly diagnose and resolve production issues.
• Work in an agile environment participating in agile ceremonies and shipping code regularly.
• Participate in code reviews offering constructive feedback ensuring the team adheres to the highest standards of performance, security, and Python/Django best practices.
• Partner closely with product management, UX, QA and engineering colleagues to break down complex requirements, define technical scope, and map out architectural solutions for a microservices environment.
• Act as a mentor to engineering colleagues by sharing your backend expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Being comfortable with AI tooling. Leverage AI tooling to enhance development workflows, improve code quality and assist in tasks like code generation, debugging, testing, and reviewing.
