About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a primary technology resource for attorneys and staff in Northern California offices
- Provide in-person, remote, and phone-based technical support
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, printing, connectivity, and peripheral issues
- Investigate and resolve user issues while maintaining professionalism and customer service
- Track, document, and follow through on support requests through resolution
- Coordinate equipment deployments, replacements, upgrades, and office technology needs
- Support conference room and meeting-related technology
- Assist with Microsoft 365 user account administration
- Support identity and access management processes
- Assist with workstation deployment, patching, configuration, and lifecycle management
- Support document management and legal-specific applications
- Escalate complex issues while maintaining ownership through resolution
- Participate in firmwide IT projects and technology rollouts
- Assist with office expansions, relocations, and infrastructure improvements
- Contribute to IT documentation, procedures, and operational standards
- Identify opportunities to improve user experience, processes, and service delivery
- Assist with technology testing, implementation, and adoption
- Promote technology security best practices and support security initiatives
- Support endpoint security, access management, and technology processes
- Help ensure adherence to technology standards and procedures
- Collaborate with the Director of IT, IT team members, Legal Technology Manager, local office managers and administrators, HR, and Operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5 years of experience in IT support, technical support, service desk, or IT operations
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications and services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for technical and non-technical users
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with limited local supervision
- Ability to travel regularly between Northern California offices
- Ability to work comfortably with external vendors and technical support resources
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Comfortable sitting for prolonged periods and working on a computer, with regular walking within the office
- Preferred: experience supporting a law firm or similar client-focused environment
- Preferred: experience supporting end users in a hybrid environment
- Preferred: practical experience patching network switches and cabling workstations
- Preferred: familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and Microsoft 365 administration
- Preferred: knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID concepts and user administration
- Preferred: familiarity with Mimecast and Exchange Online
- Preferred: familiarity with Microsoft Conditional Access and MDM protocols
- Preferred: experience supporting document management systems such as iManage
- Preferred: exposure to cybersecurity best practices
- Preferred: experience assisting with technology projects and deployments
