About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- O'Hagan Meyer is seeking a litigation associate to join its Charlotte office.
- This is an excellent opportunity for associates to provide legal service within a sophisticated practice and who are seeking to assume a significant role in all aspects of the complex litigation process.
- An ideal attorney will have at least 3-4 years of experience with any of the following: employment litigation, general liability, professional liability, products liability, real estate / property, HOA/Condo association and/or class actions. Relevant judicial clerkship experience will be credited toward the required years of experience.
Requirements
What you’ll need- This role requires legal research, drafting of pleadings motions and other documents, taking and defending depositions, representing clients in mediation, drafting and answering discovery requests, trial preparation and trial assistance.
- Experience with both state and federal courts preferred, as well as state and federal administrative agencies.
- This position also requires the ability to communicate with both clients and colleagues in an effective manner.
- This position will require some local travel for court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, site inspections and depositions.
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional client service.
- Admission to the state bar of North Carolina is required. __*Admission to South Carolina and/or Virginia is a plus.*__
