About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide comprehensive litigation support to multiple attorneys, managing heavy and complex caseloads.
- Prepare, revise, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and correspondence in compliance with applicable court rules.
- Prepare court filings for state, federal and appellate courts, including electronic and traditional filings.
- Coordinate travel arrangements. Prepare, submit, and track travel and expense reimbursements.
- Assist with discovery and trial support, including document production, exhibit preparation, and court filings. Support scanning, photocopying, and binder preparation as needed.
- Create and maintain filing systems and databases in compliance with office policies to ensure accurate and efficient data retrieval.
- Maintain and monitor litigation calendars, including deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial dates.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong knowledge of California and Federal court rules and procedures.
- Minimum of three years working as a legal secretary/assistant experience in a law firm.
- Proficiency in ECF filings and other court filing procedures.
- Advanced Word skills, including creating tables, bookmarking, and styling documents. iManage experience a plus but not required.
- Strong proofreading and editing abilities, with a focus on accuracy and grammar.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with attorneys and co-workers.
