About the role
- Work on a range of internal and external digital products
- Involved in the end-to-end product design process — from customer research and ideation, to wireframing, prototyping, and testing high-fidelity designs.
- Help shape meaningful, accessible and intuitive solutions that solve real customer problems through human-centred design.
- Engage with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, and work closely with cross-functional agile squads.
- Validate and iteratively test ideas and designs with customers.
- Work with other designers, foster a collaborative team culture, and champion human-centred design within an agile environment.
- Contribute to our Design System, Human-Centred Design Centre of Excellence, and Design Community of Practice.
Requirements
- Experience delivering UX/UI design for digital products and applying human-centred design methodologies.
- Expertise in UX research methods and using customer insights to inform and validate UI designs, patterns and components.
- Good understanding of the product development lifecycle and working with cross-functional teams.
- Clear communication and storytelling skills to effectively present designs.
- Good relationship-building skills to engage stakeholders, peers, internal users, and external customers.
- Experience working in agile environments, supporting squads with iterative product designs.
- Ability to ensure product designs comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and NZ Government web standards.
- Proficiency in research and design tools such as Askable, Figma, Miro, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a willingness to engage with Te Ao Māori, tikanga, and Te Reo Māori.
