Key responsibilities & impact

Prioritize and settle a variety of claims issues arising from coverage and payment of damages
Provide oversight to the operations team members regarding quality, experience, fraud and compliance
Responsible for oversight of quality assurance, EFW, special projects and claim experience program
Formulate mitigation plans that drive performance as it relates to compliance reviews
Manage requests for time off for personnel under supervision
Complete evaluations, progress reports and personal improvement plans for personnel
Develop, monitor, and support goals for personnel
Handle employee grievances and complaints and participate in employee discipline
Regularly coach, train and mentor team and communicate feedback
Conduct regular team meetings
Participate in hiring process and make hiring recommendations
Provide technical guidance and education of claims procedures and regulations
Interpret and provide insight into regulatory and legislative changes
Assist with development and execution of short-term and long-term goals and initiatives
Provide technical insight into areas of training, quality assurance, and customer experience
Maintain and develop claims operations understanding to offer insights for improvement
Continuously focus on ways to improve leadership and supervisory skills
Establish and maintain solid working relationships with other divisions
Analyze findings and collaborate to develop mitigation plans with other divisions
Additional duties as assigned
Willingness to travel.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma
4 years of insurance experience
Complete understanding of NYCM and ACIC auto insurance policies
Applicable insurance regulations and basic principles of insurance
Computer literate; proficient key boarding skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Proficient in claim procedures and workflow processes
Good leadership and supervisor skills
Good communication and listening skills
Critical Thinking
Flexible
Professional and positive attitude with ability to influence and support change
Ability to work independently and in a team fostering good working relationships
Maintain confidentiality
