About the role
- Develops and manages the operation(s) overall performance strategy
- Responsible for overseeing New Customer Implementations
- Manages P&L responsibilities ensuring decisions and practices coincide with budgetary goals
- Determine and develop the operational staffing plan in line with operational managers, revising where necessary
- Ensure that practices, policies, and procedures are in place and consistently implemented
- Negotiates with Vendors, Contractors, and Service Providers to secure best value/service standards are met
- Institute Lean management and/or other management strategies such as continuous improvement plans
- Plan annualized equipment and staffing needs for budgetary purposes
- Track key performance measurements and ensure process improvement strategies are identified and incorporated
- Keeps senior leadership well informed of all matters relating to performance, personnel issues, customer developments or concerns, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related discipline required
- Must possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in transportation, logistics, final mile or supply-chain related field
- Lean/ Six Sigma certification or experience preferred
- Experience independently owning a P&L required
- Knowledge of WMS and labor tracking systems (HighJump or Korber One) required
- Ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to adapt and manage effectively in a fast paced, changing environment
- Excellent communication, decision making, and problem-solving skills
