About the role

  • Develops and manages the operation(s) overall performance strategy
  • Responsible for overseeing New Customer Implementations
  • Manages P&L responsibilities ensuring decisions and practices coincide with budgetary goals
  • Determine and develop the operational staffing plan in line with operational managers, revising where necessary
  • Ensure that practices, policies, and procedures are in place and consistently implemented
  • Negotiates with Vendors, Contractors, and Service Providers to secure best value/service standards are met
  • Institute Lean management and/or other management strategies such as continuous improvement plans
  • Plan annualized equipment and staffing needs for budgetary purposes
  • Track key performance measurements and ensure process improvement strategies are identified and incorporated
  • Keeps senior leadership well informed of all matters relating to performance, personnel issues, customer developments or concerns, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related discipline required
  • Must possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in transportation, logistics, final mile or supply-chain related field
  • Lean/ Six Sigma certification or experience preferred
  • Experience independently owning a P&L required
  • Knowledge of WMS and labor tracking systems (HighJump or Korber One) required
  • Ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt and manage effectively in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Excellent communication, decision making, and problem-solving skills
