Lead or execute power system protection studies and associated control engineering projects.
Execute complex assignments requiring the use of advanced electrical engineering techniques.
Manage schedule, budget and quality for small and major projects.
Perform power system studies including system protection settings coordination on various projects with different voltage levels and compile reports.
Develop design basis documentation for protective settings and generate native relay configuration files.
Mentoring and training of junior staff.
Communicate with internal or external stakeholders.
Requirements
5+ years of experience with Protection and Control Design for substations (69kV – 500kV) – One Lines, Three Lines, Schematics, Bills of Materials, and relay/control panels.
Familiarity with national technical standards, codes, and guidelines as they relate to system protection engineering for various equipment used in electric substations.
Software experience: SKM Tools, ETAP, ASPEN OneLiner or Electrocon CAPE, and others.
Knowledge about design and programming of substation automation devices desired.
Experience with NERC, FERC, IEC61850 is a plus.
S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
PE license is a plus.
