About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Preparation of drainage studies, hydromodification analysis, detention basin analysis, and assisting in preparation of design plans for civil engineering projects
  • Performing third-party reviews of other consultants' drainage and water quality reports, and SWPPPs
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using programs such as AES, CivilDesign, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, WSPG, and StormCAD
  • Preparation of letter proposals, attending client meetings, and assisting the team with business development opportunities
  • Preparation of FEMA Letters of Map Revision (CLOMRs/LOMRs)
  • Preparation/Review of Storm Water Quality Management Plans (SWQMPs)
  • Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) preparation/review

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Possess a Bachelor’s or higher Degree in Civil Engineering
  • PE license in California
  • 3+ years preparing Drainage Reports in Southern California
  • Strong knowledge of both County and City of San Diego hydrologic and hydraulic requirements for development projects
  • Understand current hydromodification requirements under current County of San Diego MS4 permit
  • Experienced in Rational Method calculation and basin routing calculations
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, ArcGIS, HEC programs, PondPack, and SWMM is desired
  • Floodplain Manager Certification by ASFPM (preferred)
