About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the technical delivery both as a project lead and technical resource with minimal supervision while completing assignments that require independent judgement and evaluation.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and other project team members.
- Lead and organize the quality control and electrical testing teams on Mission Critical projects.
- Specific tasks include but are not limited to: Perform commissioning focused design reviews.
- Prepare commissioning plans and commissioning specifications.
- Prepare Load Bank Plans.
- Review, analyze and identify issues with short circuit coordination studies and arc flash studies.
- Review, analyze identify issues with electrical submittals and shop drawings.
- Prepare electrical checklists and functional test procedures and integrated system tests.
- Prepare field observation reports and status reports.
- Perform functional tests and integrated system tests.
- Prepare systems manuals and commissioning reports.
- Support electrical problem solving and corrective action plans.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of progressive experience in electrical commissioning and engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ABET accredited university.
- Experience in design, installation, testing, start up and inspection of low and medium voltage systems, emergency power and UPS systems, SCADA systems, power monitoring, and electrical power distribution.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Experience in diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems.
- Able to work as part of a team, think creatively, and solve problems.
- Experience with MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge and strong understanding of electrical codes (NEC/NFPA70), electrical acceptance testing standards (NETA), and the IEEE standards association.
- Ability to travel nationally up to 25% to support onsite project teams.
- Professional Engineering License.
- Commissioning Certification.
- Relevant Software Experience (CxAlloy, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, AutoCAD/REVIT).
