About the role

  • Take full ownership of physical substation projects providing technical oversight
  • Act as the responsible engineer and client point of contact for substation power delivery projects
  • Prepare, review, and P.E. seal technical calculation reports and construction documents meeting client and NV5 requirements
  • Communicate with clients directly and manage construction-related activities/questions
  • Assist in marketing and promotion efforts to add new regional clients
  • Mentor and train junior staff; develop career via peer-learning and knowledge sharing
  • Travel to client sites as needed; potential to expand responsibilities to project/client/personnel management

Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering or related engineering degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program (required)
  • M.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering (preferred)
  • 5+ years of progressive structural design engineering experience within substation or transmission line projects
  • Other structural design experience (bridges or building design) is a plus
  • Experience with at least one of the following: RISA, MathCAD, and/or PLS software suite
  • Physical substation design experience (strongly preferred)
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license
  • Ability to travel to client sites as needed
