About the role
- Take full ownership of physical substation projects providing technical oversight
- Act as the responsible engineer and client point of contact for substation power delivery projects
- Prepare, review, and P.E. seal technical calculation reports and construction documents meeting client and NV5 requirements
- Communicate with clients directly and manage construction-related activities/questions
- Assist in marketing and promotion efforts to add new regional clients
- Mentor and train junior staff; develop career via peer-learning and knowledge sharing
- Travel to client sites as needed; potential to expand responsibilities to project/client/personnel management
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering or related engineering degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program (required)
- M.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering (preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive structural design engineering experience within substation or transmission line projects
- Other structural design experience (bridges or building design) is a plus
- Experience with at least one of the following: RISA, MathCAD, and/or PLS software suite
- Physical substation design experience (strongly preferred)
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license
- Ability to travel to client sites as needed
