About the role
- Lead the design of projects from start to finish in a variety of sectors including Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, and Life Science
- Work closely with senior engineers, learning what makes a successful design practice
- Hands-on with technical design of buildings projects
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously including budgeting, scheduling, and client management & communication
- Attend project sites and client meetings
- Collaborate with teams of engineers and architects to complete project deliverables
- Coordinate design work with other engineering and architectural disciplines
- Meet client expectations for budget and schedule while delivering a quality product
- Increase proficiency in relevant design, modeling, and analysis software applications
- Assist with budget estimates and write-ups for proposals
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in Civil, Structural Engineering
- M.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in the State of California
- 5+ years of relevant structural engineering design experience (Concrete, Steel, Masonry, Wood)
- Knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction practices specific to high-seismic regions
- Technical skills: Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., ETABS, RISA, RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, RAM Concept, Enercalc, Excel)
- Experience assembling calculation packages for submittal to agencies (DSA and HCAI a plus)
- Revit experience including modeling and producing construction drawings is preferred
- Experience with seismic evaluations and retrofits per ASCE 41 a plus
