About the role
- Ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of sulfuric acid plants
- Responsible for process safety management and environmental compliance
- Optimize sulfuric production and ensure reliable operation of water treatment plant
- Establish regular presence in plant to build rapport with personnel
- Track and report downtime affecting plant operations
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and handle inspections during outages
- Ensure production tonnage meets or exceeds plan
- Prepare department budget and justify capital projects
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required, Chemical Engineering is preferred
- Minimum of 5+ years of chemical industry experience
- Process Safety Management (PSM) experience is preferred
- Chemical plant industry, project management experience with regulatory emission monitoring and control is preferred
- Knowledge and expertise with computers and various software applications
- Supervisory skills are required
- Project engineering development and management skills
- Effective presentation skills is essential
- Six sigma training is desired
