About the role
- Complete and review federal tax returns for assigned entities, including book-tax difference analysis, technical research, and documentation of tax positions.
- Prepare and review state and local returns, including allocation/apportionment, income tax, franchise tax, and other direct taxes.
- Prepare and review quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments.
- Support tax provisions, forecasts, budgets, and prepare documentation for footnotes, management reports, and audits.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of assigned tax accounts each quarter.
- Lead initiatives to streamline processes using technology and data management tools; identify opportunities for efficiency and collaborate with finance and tax teams.
- Assist with federal, state, and local audits—gathering information, responding to notices, and addressing queries.
- Research and document material tax positions; advise on US tax issues and legislation impacting the company.
- Promote and implement federal and state tax planning strategies to achieve departmental goals.
- Mentor tax accountants to support career growth and development.
- Work with external consultants on research projects and compliance matters.
- Adhere to company standards, policies, and procedures, including Code of Business Conduct and Safety, Health & Environment policies.
- Take initiative to lead projects, meet deadlines, and perform additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting from a recognized institution.
- 8+ years of income tax experience in a global organization or a large tax consulting firm supporting multinational clients.
- Strong understanding of US tax compliance and accounting for income taxes.
- CPA designation or US Master of Tax designation (preferred).
- Familiarity with systems such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, OneSource Income Tax, Longview, Alteryx, Power Query, and Power BI (considered an asset).
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, changing environment.

- Capability to identify and implement best practices and process improvements.
- Strong ability to provide recommendations and advise decision-makers on tax matters.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.

- Strong understanding of business operations and keen analytical skills.
