About the role

  • Move beyond high-level requirements to define the specific processes for data ingestion, transformation, and publication.
  • Translate business needs into detailed technical user stories that provide developers with a clear, actionable roadmap.
  • Use advanced methodologies to independently query and understand data assets, ensuring they are fit-for-purpose and reconciled accurately.
  • Design system architectures and maintain coherent documentation for all data processes, taking full ownership of the systems your team manages.
  • Work effectively within a scrum environment to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • Advanced SQL Mastery: This is your primary tool; you must be able to independently interrogate complex data assets and script with precision.
  • Analytic Curiosity: A proactive drive to perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot technical issues within data pipelines.
  • Clear Technical Communication: The ability to provide concise technical messaging and engage with both internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • A minimum of 3 years of commercial experience in complex data environments, supported by tertiary qualifications in Information Science, Business, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Direct experience with BigQuery (or similar large-scale environments) and a strong understanding of codebases and end-to-end technical development.
  • Previous exposure to property and attributes data assets is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with APIs, event-based pipelines, and cloud concepts (specifically GCP and serverless architecture).
