About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Pack products into pre-cut crates for domestic or foreign shipment
Verify shipments for correct materials and handling instructions
Load products and related parts onto trucks and/or flatbeds
Assemble crates safely and in an organized manner using pneumatic nail guns and staplers
Prepare and crate doors and parts orders according to specifications and requirements
Pull stock components, including small parts, hardware, and weldments
Check materials, packing and crating, tagging, and handling instructions
Operate a forklift to load crates into or onto trucks, vans, or flatbeds
Perform general housekeeping in and around receiving and storage areas
Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

Ability to work Monday–Friday, 4:30am–1:00pm
Ability to read and understand checklists, packing slips, manuals, and drawings
Ability to use a tape measure
Ability to operate pneumatic nail guns, staplers, and an air ratchet
High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to prioritize workload and manage more than one task at a time
Ability to safely operate a forklift
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small-group situations
Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs
Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule-based instructions
Ability to lift 50–75 pounds occasionally
Ability to squat, kneel, and stand frequently
High school diploma or GED desired; alternatively, two to four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
