About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop safe and economical structures that fulfill project requirements while adhering to industry codes and standards
- Utilize our proprietary software for frame, secondary, bracing, crane, mezzanine, and panel analysis to ensure structural integrity and performance
- Work closely with the Detailing Department and other team members to communicate design requirements effectively and ensure seamless project execution
- Review and check structural drawings for accuracy
- Embrace opportunities to grow and develop as an engineer, collaborating with various teams throughout the division to find innovative solutions and explore unique career paths within our organization
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited school
- Proficient verbal and written communication in the English language
- Strong knowledge of structural building codes: IBC, AISC 360, AISC 341, AISC 358, ASCE7, AISI, etc.
- Structural Engineer (S.E.) registration in the United States with the ability to be licensed in Illinois
- Resides within the continental United States, availability as followed: Minimum 8 consecutive hours Available from 9 am to 3 pm CST
- Ability to travel to home division or job sites as needed. (<10% travel)
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future)
