About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate automatic overhead cranes from remote control desk, remote control and crane cabin
  • Operate the crane in manual mode, semi-automatic mode and automatic mode
  • Monitor ground safety equipment’s and control access authorization on the crane working area
  • Perform troubleshooting for basic failures and participate in troubleshoot together with maintenance for automatic cranes
  • Perform minor repairs and adjustments
  • Interact with HMI systems to identify equipment status, recognize and troubleshoot alarms, monitor crane operation and define setup and operation modes for cranes
  • Utilize Level 2 systems for operation, monitoring system performance, identifying improvement areas, and applying best practices
  • Maintain detailed records of actions, manual interactions and adjustments on automated cranes and systems
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies, adapt to evolving industry practices, and contribute to process enhancements
  • Ensure all work complies with industry safety standards and organizational protocols

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience or certification in automation, robotics, electrical, data analysis, technical fields
  • Experience working in an industrial environment preferably in a steel mill or similar
  • Ability to work well within cross-functional teams and communicate effectively
  • Experience operating overhead cranes, preferably in a steel mill or similar industrial environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Familiarity with L2 WMS, L1 systems (including HMI screens, positioning monitoring with encoders and radars, and wireless network), and CCTV camera operations
