About the role
- Manage complex projects with Detailing teams and multiple products and vendors from estimating to project completion
- Cultivate a positive customer service environment while maximizing profits for Nucor Rebar Fabrication
- Review contract documents/drawings and coordinate detailing efforts to ensure safe, cost effective and efficient supply of products and services
- Provide total contract management of assigned projects, including coordination of detailing, scheduling, delivery and cost of products and services
- Oversee efforts to ensure Nucor Rebar Fabrication fulfills contractual obligations on assigned projects
- Coordinate project requirements with contractor’s representative, engineer and/or architect using company contract management guidelines
- Schedule the detailing and delivery of required products and services with the Contractor, Detailing, Shop and Mill teams
- Review and process changes to the project in coordination with Estimating and Detailing and follow change order procedures
- Assist in the Change Order process culminating in acceptance by the customer
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to all stakeholders
- Represent the company in project meetings as needed
- Work with Sales Service Supervisor to help control costs while maintaining customer relationships
- Formulate reports concerning work progress, costs and scheduling
- Perform other duties as required by supervisor
- Demonstrate and lead safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or construction management (acceptable)
- 5 years of rebar detailing experience (acceptable)
- 5 years of relevant construction project management experience (acceptable)
- Ability to apply ACI codes and CRSI standards (preferred/required ability listed)
- Experience in customer relations and resolving problems or disputes (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of contract law, standard business practices, and human relations (preferred)
- Strong mathematical skills (preferred)
- At least three years of experience overseeing detailers (preferred)
- Ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards
- Occasional travel and job site visits required
- Ability to access multi-level job sites with or without a construction elevator
- Must wear protective equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, etc.
- Work schedule may include hours beyond the normal business day/week
