About the role

  • Champion Nucor’s safety culture by leading by example, reinforcing safe work practices, and integrating safety considerations into daily operations and planning
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback while overseeing training, professional development, and teammate growth to build a strong, engaged team
  • Address performance concerns, resolve personnel challenges, and support teammate success to maintain team effectiveness and accountability
  • Assess workload and staffing needs, recommend hiring decisions, and secure internal or contractor resources to meet operational and project demands
  • Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and training of new team members
  • Maintain proactive, transparent communication with leadership, internal teams, and stakeholders, providing timely updates on priorities, risks, and progress
  • Ensure project status, quality metrics, and resource needs are clearly documented, accurately reported, and accessible to appropriate audiences
  • Monitor key support and quality metrics, identify trends, and drive improvement initiatives that enhance performance and reliability
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve standardized support processes, including incident resolution and escalation, to ensure consistency, efficiency, and service quality
  • Partner with Product Management and Technical Services leadership to define QA strategies, expand automated testing capabilities, and standardize test case development to support scalability and long-term quality

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related discipline
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education is also acceptable
  • Two or more years of experience leading successful teams
  • Five or more years of experience in IT Quality Assurance, Technical Support, or Project Management
  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, now and in the future
  • Experience in the metal building industry or, at minimum, in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Quality Assurance tools and processes, including test automation frameworks and reporting tools (preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct training sessions for individuals and teams on QA and support processes (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of IT concepts such as databases, user authentication, and system access management (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum or similar) and their application in QA and support environments (preferred)
  • Experience with data management tools (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio) for troubleshooting and reporting (preferred)
  • Exposure to automation strategies and emerging technologies such as machine learning and AI for process improvement (preferred)
