About the role
- Lead and support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across our division.
- Actively engage with all departments to assist with understanding and continuous improvement of environmental compliance.
- Take a lead role in plant-wide environmental training and audits.
- Assist the division with monitoring, sampling, and testing programs and activities as needed to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements and permit limitations.
- Conduct preparation and technical evaluation of applications, plans, permits, and associated compliance related to environmental media, including water, waste, and SPCC.
- Assess environmental initiatives and manage contractor performance.
- Monitor on-site waste production, disposal activities, and recycling processes.
- Conduct audits of disposal and recycling facilities.
- Collaborate with and foster strong partnerships with key stakeholders including environmental regulatory agencies, teammates, and fellow environmental professionals.
- Capable of understanding and applying environmental laws and regulations effectively.
- Plan and participate in community outreach and education activities.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a closely related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in NPDES and RCRA environmental engineering and compliance across industrial, consulting, or regulatory environments.
- 3+ years of experience in air related compliance, reporting, permitting, air pollution control systems, and continuous emissions monitoring technologies.
- Industrial, consulting or regulatory experience in environmental engineering, environmental compliance, environmental management, or some combination thereof.
- Skilled in preparing EPCRA data management, documentation, and reporting.
- ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 knowledge and audit experience.
