About the role
- Lead the sales and marketing efforts for The Nucor Plate Group in the South Texas and Louisiana territory
- Quoting and securing business: spot and contract
- Providing forecasts and recommending new business and customers
- Supporting the Plate Group and Nucor Enterprise’s strategic growth initiatives
- Participate in and promote an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork
- Demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (e.g., Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline)
- Proven experience in steel plate sales or a related industrial sales environment
- Frequent travel required, approximately 50–75% of the time
- Must be able to travel by car and airplane as needed
- Regular exposure to heavy manufacturing and industrial environments, including steel mill operations
- Presence in areas with high temperatures, loud noise, dust, and moving machinery
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots may be necessary during site visits
