About the role

  • The Day Shift Supervisor for the Galvanizing Line is responsible for overseeing all aspects of galvanizing operations, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • This role drives continuous improvement, manages team development, and ensures compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote and cultivate a culture of safety and housekeeping across all operations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Plan, organize, and control galvanizing processes to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Monitor line performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maintain continuous flow.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure adherence to all industry-related standards and internal quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues and maintain product integrity.
  • Manage budgets, monitor consumables, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Optimize energy usage and reduce waste through process improvements.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate production teams to achieve departmental goals.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide training for skill development.
  • Drive initiatives for process optimization, efficiency, and reliability. Utilize Lean and Six Sigma principles where applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in galvanizing or metal coating operations.
  • Strong knowledge of galvanizing processes (hot-dip and/or electro-galvanizing).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AISC standards (preferred).
  • Ability to interpret structural steel drawings and specifications (preferred).
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (preferred).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills (preferred).
