About the role

  • Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders, service owners, architects, and technical teams to translate service needs into clear, actionable requirements
  • Define and prioritize features, user stories, and service improvements based on business value, risk, compliance, and operational impact
  • Ensure that infrastructure products and services support agreed service levels (SLAs, OLAs) and continual service improvement (CSI) objectives
  • Collaborate closely with Service Management, Operations, Security, and Architecture teams to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose, scalable, and supportable
  • Support ITIL processes by ensuring requirements consider availability, capacity, continuity, security, and lifecycle management
  • Participate in planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring transparency on scope, priorities, dependencies, and delivery progress
  • Validate delivered solutions against acceptance criteria and business expectations, ensuring readiness for operational handover
  • Maintain documentation such as service descriptions, backlog items, roadmaps, and release notes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Product Owner, Service Owner, or similar role in IT infrastructure or enterprise IT environments
  • Strong understanding of ITIL principles and processes, with practical experience applying them in real-world projects
  • Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure domains such as cloud platforms, data centers, networks, operating systems, middleware, or workplace services
  • Ability to balance strategic objectives with operational realities in a service-oriented environment
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid (Agile/ITIL) delivery models
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to bridge business and technical perspectives
  • Strong prioritization and decision-making skills, with a focus on value, risk, and service quality
  • Familiarity with service management tools (e.g. ServiceNow or similar) is a plus
  • ITIL certification (Foundation or higher) and/or Agile Product Owner certification is desirable
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written German and English
