About the role
- Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders, service owners, architects, and technical teams to translate service needs into clear, actionable requirements
- Define and prioritize features, user stories, and service improvements based on business value, risk, compliance, and operational impact
- Ensure that infrastructure products and services support agreed service levels (SLAs, OLAs) and continual service improvement (CSI) objectives
- Collaborate closely with Service Management, Operations, Security, and Architecture teams to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose, scalable, and supportable
- Support ITIL processes by ensuring requirements consider availability, capacity, continuity, security, and lifecycle management
- Participate in planning, reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring transparency on scope, priorities, dependencies, and delivery progress
- Validate delivered solutions against acceptance criteria and business expectations, ensuring readiness for operational handover
- Maintain documentation such as service descriptions, backlog items, roadmaps, and release notes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a Product Owner, Service Owner, or similar role in IT infrastructure or enterprise IT environments
- Strong understanding of ITIL principles and processes, with practical experience applying them in real-world projects
- Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure domains such as cloud platforms, data centers, networks, operating systems, middleware, or workplace services
- Ability to balance strategic objectives with operational realities in a service-oriented environment
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid (Agile/ITIL) delivery models
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to bridge business and technical perspectives
- Strong prioritization and decision-making skills, with a focus on value, risk, and service quality
- Familiarity with service management tools (e.g. ServiceNow or similar) is a plus
- ITIL certification (Foundation or higher) and/or Agile Product Owner certification is desirable
- Excellent command of both spoken and written German and English
