Director

• Plan, execute and manage voter turnout programs throughout the year, with an emphasis on a large campus field program ahead of the general election.
• Manage staff and high-capacity volunteers to conduct base building work and to use electoral work to grow their membership.
• Travel on the ground to organize trainings and direct actions, and manage field work.
• Plan and manage volunteers and staff to organize canvasses, phone banks, and text banks.
• Work with the Political Director to set and hit weekly and monthly goals, and hold teams accountable to goals.
• Work with Electoral Team to make endorsements and coordinate (when permitted) with campaigns and partner organizations.
• Manage and hire additional staff capacity as the program grows throughout the year.
• Creatively use Sunrise’s electoral work to shape the Democratic Party and the story around young people in politics.
• Experiment with how to reach disaffected young people and organize with them around elections.
• Develop plans to protect the integrity of the 2026 election.

Field Director

• Oversee goal setting for organization using OKR framework or similar.
• Quarterly stepbacks to evaluate progress.
• Support other leadership teams to set goals and evaluate periodically.
• Ensure our priorities are communicated, visible, and that we have systems for tracking goals.
• Coordinate the Executive Risk Team to guide informed decisions about strategic and operational risks at the highest level of the strategy.
• Conduct ongoing threat assessment and guide structural shifts to protect from internal and external threats.
• Lead, facilitate and project manage risk assessments across teams, training, events and resources for staff and leadership, and ability to discern when to communicate appropriately.
• Liaison with legal counsel, organization board members, staff, and other relevant parties to gather accurate risk assessments, and advise the Executive Director (ED) on decisions affecting big picture organizational health and strategic goals.

Art Director

• Lead the development of creative strategies for all digital channels, including website, social media, email outreach, digital advertising, and interactive experiences
• Work with our digital firm and outside consultants to ensure a variety of timely content across platforms
• Develop and maintain a strong brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all digital touchpoints
• Oversee the entire creative process, from conceptualization and ideation to execution and delivery with assistance from consultants when necessary
• Collaborate with outside stakeholders to align creative strategies with campaign goals
• Stay up-to-date with emerging digital technologies, industry trends, and best practices
• Manage creative budgets, allocate resources effectively, and track performance metrics to optimize campaigns
• Mentor and develop creative talent within the team

Digital and Creative Director

Communications

• Create the narrative architecture & positioning for the reuse movement.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic communications plan
• Build and lead a dynamic reuse newsroom, establishing editorial guidelines, sourcing structures and amplification channels
• Secure and leverage ambassadors or influencers to amplify the movement
• Partner with others across the ecosystem on communications to accelerate the shift to reuse
• Work closely with the CEO to align and map the Communication department’s goals and outcomes to organizational goals
• Revitalize Upstream’s own narrative and maintain organizational identity
• Serve as a strategic advisor to staff leadership on communication matters; contribute to organizational decisions as part of leadership team
• Create the Communication department’s communications Work Plan each year; manage Communications team and contractors
• Build and develop team capacity through strategic hiring, mentorship, and professional development
• Develop a measurement framework to demonstrate and report on Communications outcomes and impact
• Create and execute a new web sitemap for Upstream’s website based on the new narrative architecture
• Facilitate effective internal communication to keep team members informed and engaged
• Build and manage essential external partnerships with communications community, influencers, media, sector leaders
• Organize and manage events, campaigns, and other activities to promote the organization's mission
• Support the CEO as spokesperson for media and public engagements

Director of Strategic Communications – Upstream

Project Manager

• Support operational and logistical backbone of Powered by Faith initiative
• Coordinate across internal systems, external partners, and senior leaders; manage calendars, timelines, task lists
• Prepare, schedule, facilitate meetings; support materials, agendas, notetaking, and follow-up
• Serve as main point of contact for operational coordination with Amalgamated Charitable Foundation
• Coordinate virtual and in-person convenings including tech setup, vendor management, contracts, materials, participant outreach
• Maintain documentation of plans, budgets, deliverables, and contracts
• Manage grant administration: liaise with fiscal sponsor, Lead Organizer, faith leads, funders; submit proposals and reports; ensure fund disbursement
